It was a dim day at Deeside and the boys were eager to give Evan Howie a good game for his 50th cap.
2 minutes in, Sam Baddeley scored a try after managing to find a gap in the defence, it was unfortunately not converted.
3 minutes in and Captain Duncan Inglis scores a try after it being popped from the deck by Evan it’s was unfortunately not converted. Deeside than manage to gain 3 tries against Mackie after they got too comfortable and all were converted.
It’s now the second half and Mackie had to think about how to fix their mistakes from the first half but Deeside manage to get a converted try before Mackie switch on. Then Mackie score a try and it was Evan Howie to score it with a magnificent run down the wing; the try was successfully converted by Archie Mitchell.
Deeside score two more converted tries as they managed to find a way around Mackie’s mistakes. Then Mackie pick the game up and fix those little mistakes that let them down and Evan Howie scored one more off a brilliant maul and it was unconverted. Mackie then scored another try as they were determined to get one more try before the game ended and surely they did as Nairn Lawson went over helped by Henry Aitken to score a successfully converted try by Archie Mitchell.
The final score was 42-29.
Thanks to Deeside for hosting us and congratulations on your win. Well done to all the Mackie boys they didn’t win but the effort was there.
A very well done to Evan Howie on getting his 50th cap. Well done to Liam for getting big mac and having some fantastic line outs and to Jacob Armstrong-Williams who unfortunately got injured but made some very good defensive plays that Deeside threw at the Mackie squad. A big thanks as always to the coaches to whom the game wouldn’t have been possible without and the parents your support is always appreciated.
