After last week's comfortable win at home, the U16s made the trip north to Highland in good spirits knowing this would be a tough game. After a great start through tries from Finlay, Cohen and Brian we looked comfortable but Highland kept in the game and after Charlie’s try near halftime, we went in 24-24. Falling behind due to mistakes in the second left it a nervy end to the game, but further tries from Rory, Brian and Fraser along with a penalty try gave us a very important win to back up a brilliant performance.
Players of the match - Andrew and Brian who caused Highland chaos and gave us good forwards play.
Special mentions - Finlay and Ethan who put in a great shift in attack and defence along with great runs from George and Eddie. Also a huge shoutout to the lads on the subs bench who brought high intensity when brought on in a quite nervy tight game. Was also great to give a debut to Charlie W.
Many thanks to parents who made the trip and helped with transport, Highland for amazing hospitality and to my Assistant Coaches Steve and Scott who kept the lads going today.
