Mackie U14 Girls attended a Caledonia wide Girls festival, held at Deeside Rugby Club in Banchory.

The festival aimed to expose the girls to larger format (10v10) games on a larger pitch, to start to bridge the jump from U14 to U16, which many of the Mackie Girls will move to next season.

Mackie were teamed up with familiar faces from Moray RFC and new faces from Dundee RFC. The girls gelled well, running and passing well, scoring several tries against the Madras team. Defensively, held the line well, committing to tackles, as if they had all played together for years, not meeting each other for the first time. Two further games against Montrose and Garioch saw many more tries, excellent offloading and counter rucking. Scores were not being recorded, but unofficially, we estimated 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat, however overall a great day and a win for Girls Rugby!
