Mackie made a solid start, taking their time to get organised and settle into the game. Their patience paid off, with Leon powering over the line for the first try, confidently converted by Haz to give Mackie a 7–0 lead.
The boys took on the feedback from the coaching squad last week and made the rucks a challenge for Moray giving little room for a quick grab.
Moray quickly responded though with a try of their own, but the conversion missed, keeping Mackie narrowly ahead.
Finlay B then stormed through for Mackie’s second try of the match, with Leon adding the extras to stretch the lead.
Moray weren’t done yet, scoring again just before the break to keep things tight.
Half-time score: Mackie 14 – Moray 10
After the restart, Mackie really began to dominate. Laurie charged through to score Mackie’s third try of the day, literally pirouetting over the line with a ‘stretch’ for the try. Haz nailing the conversion meant it was nearly home time however despite an injury Leon was determined Haz didn’t go home without one more chance to kick and passed to him moment later to allow Haz showed his resilience despite the injury, crossing the line himself and then calmly slotting the conversion to seal the win.
Final Score: Mackie 28 – Moray 10

Super proud of this team once again!
The progress in such a short time is incredible, and it’s amazing to see how much these young players look up to each other and their coaches
We are SO lucky to have this squad
