Mackie made another trip to Aberdeen but this time for the Aberdeen Wanderers Rugby Festival. The team arrived to be greeted by a combination of wind, rain and sunshine. The first task of erecting base camp was completed and many thanks to the parents for helping out and ensuring base camp did not turn into one big sail!

The coaches put the players through a much shorter warm up knowing they had 3 back to-back games.
Dustythepainmaster got them stretching and warming up while gareththedefencecoach got their tackle heads on!

First up were the Pelicans. Mackie started strong putting together a number of good attacking moves and dominant tackles. Mackie ran out as winners.

A quick break then Deeside … and Mackie continued to press their quick and expansive attack, dominant defence and put on a great show for the travelling supporters/fans.

Another quick water break and Mackie took too the field once again but against Wanderers. Mackie started strong and went into half time looking comfortable. However a spirited Wanderers team fought hard and pushed Mackie to the final whistle. Mackie ran out as winners.

Aberdeen Wanderers 4 : 5 Mackie

Mackie's next opposition was Garioch. A tough game for them as they never really showed the true Mackie spirit as were beaten by a better Garioch team.

Garioch 6 : 1 Mackie

Last game was against Grammar. Mackie put in another impressive performance to win the last game of the round robin completion.

Mackie 8 : 0 Aberdeen Grammar

Overall Mackie just fell short and finished runners up.
Frankiethepitchsideconsultant, Dustythepainmaster and Gareththedefencecoach were all delighted to see great attacking play with offloads, passing and support runners that probed and found gaps in the opposition defence. The Mackie wall with the exception of one half held firm and we could see lots of strong dominant tackles and turnovers.

A worthy second place for their hard efforts and just 1 point behind the winning team.
