Mackie Rugby Club Volunteer of the Month – Philip Rhind, P3 Lead Coach
Here at Mackie Rugby Club, we pride ourselves on having the right volunteers in place and our success wouldn't be possible without the tireless efforts of them. This month, we are delighted to recognise Philip Rhind as our Volunteer of the Month.
For over a decade, Philip has been an integral part of the Micros Coaching Team where many players have been able to make the hop, skip and jump on the stepping stones towards Minis Rugby.
When a young player was recently asked what he liked about Micros rugby, his reply of "Philip was fun and really good teacher that helped me get better at rugby" highlights how Philip creates an environment that allows young people to thrive and build their self-confidence.
Another comment that came from the touchlines of how "impressed they are of Philip's enthusiasm, knowledge and techniques that inspire both the young players and the old spectators to engage in rugby" shows that through Philip's player-centred, development-driven and competition-supported approaches, players past and present have developed their confidence, enjoyment, friendships, basic movement skills and love for the game.
Philip, from players and parents past and present, they all wanted to say...
"Thank you from all of us!"
Please join us in congratulating Philip and thanking him for his contributions to our club.
Finally, let's give Philip a big round of applause and make sure to thank him in person at the next training session up at Redcloak!
We are sure he wouldn't mind a wave when he is cycling up to Redcloak on his bike with the bike trailer attached too.
