Here at Mackie Rugby Club, we pride ourselves on having the right volunteers in place, and our success wouldn’t be possible without the tireless efforts of them. This month, we are delighted to recognise Andy Tench as our Volunteer of the Month!
During Andy's tenure as Head Coach, his dedication and commitment has lead the team from strength to strength.
Andy's approachable personality and wiilingness to develop individuals are a few of the many coaching principles upon which The Scottish Way is built upon.
Andy is known to also demonstrate rugby's core values as his passionate enthusiasm for the game generates excitement and motivation for the development of the whole player, the 1st XV squad and the club.
Andy's "above and beyond" ethos has been deeply valued by the whole squad as it has been noted he attends many seminars, workshops and meetings at the weekends and perhaps more importantly, has been known to drive to away fixtures, ensuring players get back in time for their work.
From the Mens 1st XV perhaps this final quote highlights Andy's coaching skills, technical and tactical skills and planning skills that have motivated the players and the whole squad:
"Without his dedication and commitment to improving himself as a coach, the squad would never have reached the levels they are now."
Please join us in congratulating Andy and thanking him for his contribution to our club.
Finally, let’s give Andy a big round of applause and make sure to thank him in person at the next home game up at Redcloak!
