Well done to Mackie RFC Coach, Sarah Chew and her team yesterday! An update from Sarah on her day cycling with the 'Doddie's Triple Crown 2026' event:
The Wood Foundation has sponsored the match ball bike ride since it began and this year in my new role, Mark Beaumont asked me if I wanted to do the first leg from Murrayfield to Melrose Rugby Club on a tandem - I’m mean you can’t say no to that… with not owning a bike or actually having cycled for 4 years, I maybe should have ?
It was the most incredible day starting with the team at Murrayfield with a wee detour to meet the Scotland team on route. 50 miles in total but worth every moment of pain as it really is a privilege to be able to do it for this amazing cause.
Melrose Rugby Club were amazing and even looked after my tandem, that was lent to us by local Edinburgh charity Vie Velo, for the night.
They left this morning for their route to Dublin with nothing but tartan as far as the eye can see.
With over £1 million raised already the target is £2 million by Saturday so any donations welcome!
