Training started with a warm game arranged by Ben where the "tagged" player had to complete a set of hinge movements before getting back into the warm up grid.
Straight into a game of 3 v 3 where there was plenty of ABC and keeping the rugby ball alive on show.
Next up a rugby ball handling activity where the focus was the long reach, rotate the shoulder and Superman hands to finish. The pressure was then applied by increasing the gap between the players and then doing it at jogging speed inside the passing grid.
Back into the 3 v 3 game where bonus points were awarded for any player who showed the long reach, rotate the shoulder and Superman hands to finish when pass the rugby ball.
The "House of Pain" followed where squad members were put through their paces with some agility, speed and core strength activities under timed conditions.
A safe tackle technique activity ensued with a focus on the squeeze and drop.
Back to the 3 v 3 game where the pitch was turned sidieways making it short and wide.
Throughout the session there was lots of hard work and commitment from the squad on show for the coaching team to see.
The session finished with the gather round/ take a knee where the Player/ Trainer of the week was revealed.
Well done Conner for taking onboard the coaching team's feedback and showing improvement throughout the session.
Remember to ask your rugby brain what is the 1 thing I need to stop doing and the 1 thing I need to start doing to improve my rugby skills.
Special thanks to Phoebe for coming along and helping out with the coaching team today.
Awesomeness Peeps!
