This Saturday saw our first outing on the 7's circuit. We were in a pool with Montrose Madras and Deeside. In the first game the boys managed to beat Montrose 4 try's to 2. In the second game we came up against a very good attacking side in Madras, this was a very close run game with Madras scoring first and Mackie scoring the equaliser, the game was hard fought with Mackie having a lot of possession towards the end of the game Max made an attempt to score but was held up over the line buy a dogged Madras defense. Madras re started and ran the length of the pitch to score, this unfortunately for Mackie was the last play of the match (2 . 1 Madras) The last game was against Deeside this was a hard fought affair also with Mackie leading up to the last play of the game, the ball was loose just short of the try line and was miss handled and popped up bounced off the post protector into a Deeside player’s hand who touched down for the equalising score. The kick was duly converted and the referee blew his whistle. A hard day at the office for the Mackie boys but that is how it is sometimes. To finish on a positive note there was some excellent rugby played by everyone and with a little more training I can see good times ahead.
