Mackie Vs Morgan

A joint Mackie 1XV /2XV suffered a narrow defeat to former Caley 1 Dundee outfit Morgan FPRFC at Redcloak.

Although the home team lost there were many positives to be taken from the game, which had several players playing for the 1XV for the very first time, some playing their first ever senior game.
The first half was particularly pleasing with the home side dominating the half, and looking good with the ball in hand. The scrum and lineout were solid, and the backs were full of good running.
The second half saw the home side score two quick tries, this may of been our downfall as some of the players appeared to switch off thinking the job was done. This is possibly down to the lack of experience within the team?
Overall a fine performance from a mainly 2XV team, yes the team lost and there are areas to work on, but there was enough shown in this performance to lift the spirits of the players for the upcoming season.
