The kids are still getting to grips with the new season and the introduction to contact rugby for the P4 age group this year so the session started with some general skills and warm ups before going into some more specific contact practice. Once suficiently "wound-up" the sides split apart for some friendly practice matches to work within their own teams structures and get some much needed match practice before the first competative tournament of the season next weekend at Kinross.
All the kids from all clubs competed very well and enjoyed what was ultimately a tiring session in the warm autum sunshine. To wind things up the now traditional big "mash-up" game of 17 v 17 was hotly contested with Mackie sneaking the "next try is the winner". Hotdogs and burgers all round finished things off before everyone headed for Stonehaven bowling club to watch the Scotland v USA game were the rugby was nearly as good as that witnessed on the Mackie playing fields earlier.
Thanks to Deeside and Perthshire for travelling and making it a great days rugby!
