Emulous Entertainment At Ellon

Teams from Deeside, Aberdeen Grammar, Aberdeen Wanderers and our hosts Ellon were all ready for play to begin promptly at 11.00. Mackie Reds were not on until the 2nd round of games but the 9 strong squad were straight into winning ways by showing how to Go Forward, Support and Continuity in the first 2 competitive games. The rolling super subs, 3 at a time, worked well giving players the chance to recover for the next passage of play.

Ellon provided sandwich boxes which the players readily consume to replace the energy they had used in their opening games and for the final 3 games that were back to back. These games were tougher but again the Mackie Reds were showing they were listening to the feedback from the game coaches and offered some fast running rugby and some tough try saving tackles.

For our next training session use your rugby brain to have a think about what the 1 thing I need to stop doing and the 1 thing I need to start doing to improve my rugby skills for myself and the squad.

Big thanks to all parents for getting the players there on time, being pitch side supporters in the more than slightly breezy spring morning and staying back for the prize giving so everyone could celebrate the success of all the participants of the tournament. It was a bonus that the P4 Mackie Reds were runners up (2nd) to Deeside who appear to be the team to aspire to this season.

For the 9 victorious squad members that put on their Mackie Playing tops to represent their club, their absent squad players and themselves, we the coaches, are proud for your efforts you all put into the Principles of Play throughout all your games played today.
