Instructions

Ellon Rugby Meadows Sports Center on Sunday 3rd May from 10:00 for 11:00 Kick offs.
Please register by 10:30 at the Meadows upstairs. Coach and referee meeting 10:40 on the stones between Seconds pitch and the Meadows Center.
Pool games will be completed by 14:00, followed by semis and a final. Presentation for 1st 2nd and 3rd at 15:05.
Food will be provided in the form of a hot dog from the barbecue. Please go up as a team together.

Please note the seconds pitch is fairly worn so rugby tights will be acceptable attire for this event at S1.

TOURNAMENT RULES
1. The tournament will be played as scheduled hereafter and in accordance with the IRB Age Grade Law variations.
2. All Players in S1 and S2 are based on Secondary School classes.
S1 & S2 Teams will consist of 7 players and 5 reserves. Replacements and substitutions for injuries are allowed at any time with referee’s knowledge.
3. There are two groups’ teams. Each team plays each other in the group (3 or 4 pool games). Semi-finals will be 1st in group A v 2nd in group B and 2nd in group A v 1st in Group B. Winners to final, losers to 3rd/4th play-off.
4. All games will last for 10 minutes; this will consist of two 5 minute half’s with 1 minute for half time.
4 minutes between games so PLEASE BE PROMPT AT PITCH SIDE.
5, A runner for each respective age group will take the result to the announcer in the Sports Centre.
6. GROUP POINTS:
4 points will be awarded for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 for a loss. Teams finishing in the same position will be separated by applying the following criteria in the order given, until a winner is identified.
• The winner of their group game.
• The greater number of tries scored throughout the group games.
• The better try differential throughout the group games (i.e. number of tries conceded, subtracted from the number of tries scored)
If still drawn, a decision will be taken on the toss of a coin.
7. In the event of a score draw in the semifinals or finals, “Golden Try” will occur. Winner is first to score.
8. Coaches should check all studs gum shields and protective gear before game. Safety is paramount.
9. All coaches have an obligation to ensure their players conduct themselves on the field of play in a fair and law abiding manor. Any player not so doing may be asked to leave the field of play (but may be substituted). Any coach failing to act appropriately will be asked to leave the field of play.
