Grammar in the Spring Sunshine

Mackie Mackie Mackie Oi Oi Oi
Big thanks to our hosts for allowing us to join in with their Sunday training session on sunny, crisp, Spring day.
It started off with a quick jog around playing areas and a wrestle of the rugby ball between elbow buddies/ pairs to build up your core strength.
A Mackie Reds team were then straight into age grade related games and the 4 super subs were joined by some Aberdeen Grammar players to make a combined Baa Baas ( Barbarian) team. These games were full on and one Game Coach commented on just how well all the Mackie players were committed to tackle/ tackle hold using all the key skills/ points needed to complete the tackle safely and effectively.
If the smaller teams were not playing each other then they were in the skills zone were some 3 v 3 games of touch were played or sharks and fishes games or some games of tig that promoted some foundational movements that help in a game of high speed rugby.
The final hoorah was for every player to be involved in the biggest game of sharks and fishes the Mackie coaches had ever seen. From the touch lines we could see you were all enjoying it by the big whoop, whoop shouts, huge smiling faces and dirty tops as you were caught in the tackle/ tackle hold.
Remember to ask your rugby brain what is the 1 thing I need to stop doing to improve my rugby skills and the 1 thing I need to start doing so that you can improve your rugby game skills.
Big thanks to all parents for getting the players there on time, being pitchside supporters in the lovely Spring sunshine.
Watch this space and hopefully you will be able to see the squad photos on this website.
Rugby Tastic peeps!
