The squad were straight into a warm up of train tig on a warm (for December), sunny and slightly breezy Saturday. It got harder when the train engine could not have more than 2 carriages.
It was ball down, water on and straight into the first game. Some popping, passing and end to end running was shown by both teams.
The game was then stopped and new rules were introduced. Each team could only score in the coloured cone corner called by the game coach. To start with players were getting frustrated as they could not score and the runners were getting tired. Then some players started shouting to their team mates to pass and then attack the space. The tries started to mount up for both teams and the game coaches praised the players for working this out on their own. They were chuffed with themselves.
After ball down and water on it was time for the squad to feel the pain so that they could gain. Plenty of relay sprints & bear crawls followed be the take a knee debrief and the squad shout out to mark the end of the training session.
As always players are asked to think what their rugby brain is saying to stop doing and to start doing in order to improve their rugby skills.
Big thanks to all parents for getting the players to training on time and for being pitch side supporters.
You should be able to see the squad action photos on this website.
Finally, next week is the last training session before the Christmas holidays so bring you Santa hat, tinsel and Christmas cheer.
Rugby Tastic peeps!
