Fantastic 5's make parents proud again!

P5 Kinross match report
We rarely play teams from this far south, but last week showed we were up for it! This week Kinross hosted Hillfoots, Dunfermline, Perthshire & Murrayfield Wanderers. Apart from Kinross, all unknown entities. Did that bother our lot...no chance. We stuck to our game and implemented what we learned from Loretto and at mid week training. The first 3 matches (Hillfoots, Murrayfield and Dunfermline) showed strong performances in attack, rucking strongly and off loading to a wider line than before.
If there was one area that we identified we need to work harder on it was tackling. We need to stop letting opponents slip through us. We'll get that sorted in the next few months.
All looked good so far. We then came across Kinross, who simply outplayed us. They were organised, they passed the ball out a few times whilst moving forward and were strong and hungrier in defence. We were simply outplayed and the boys knew it. Great experience and we'll see them again at our tournament in May.
The casualty of the day for us was Jake, who went down heavily on his ankle. A suspected fracture was later concluded to be a bad sprained. We missed him for the latter part of the tournament. Hope he gets back soon!
Last up which we now knew was for the overall runners-up position was Perthshire, who had been in the cup final at Loretto. This was a bruising affair, with total commitment shown on every face. We were 4-5 down with a minute to go. Whilst Norrie was receiving some attention, we rallied the troops and came back with typical response under pressure. Drawing that match got us the runners up medal. A very good result for what contributed to a fantastic day out for Mackie Minis once again.
Well done boys. Great effort!
